About Women in Engineering

There is a noticeable gap between female and male enrollments into technology courses. In fact, there is a shortage of female professionals in the whole IT industry. Because of this, we want to promote the balance between male and female populations engineering and science fields of study, since we believe that both can contribute significantly for future achievements and evolution in this field.

IEEE-UC Women in Engineering Affinity Group envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their knowledge to innovate the world of tomorrow.

The mission of IEEE-UC WIE is to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally.
